Soldier Welfare Unit of the Polish Army (civilians and military personnel charged with improving the life of soldiers). Staff members: Tadeusz Sypniewski (editor of the publication “Junak”); Zofia Krzyżanowska (nee Zofia Wiśniewska; later Zofia Drzewieniecki), Director, Polish YMCA in Palestine and Egypt attached to the Polish Army, with her dog; Colonel Kulczycki, Unit Director; two unidentified individuals; Mrs. Halina Pichetowa head of the Polish YMCA branch in Barbara, Palestine. Qastina, Palestine, 1943. (This Gaza village was later destroyed by the Israelis and its inhabitants – Palestinians - were turned into refugees.)
