    Description

    Soldier Welfare Unit of the Polish Army (civilians and military personnel charged with improving the life of soldiers). Staff members: Mr. Tadeusz Sypniewski (editor of the Polish publication “Junak” for refugee youth and others); Zofia Krzyżanowska (nee Zofia Wiśniewska; later: Zofia Drzewieniecki), Director, Polish YMCA in Palestine and Egypt attached to the Polish Army; Colonel Kulczycki, Unit Director; Mrs. Halina Pichetowa head of the Polish YMCA branch in Barbara, Palestine. Qastina, Palestine, 1943. (This village was later destroyed by the Israelis and its inhabitants [Palestinians] were turned into refugees.)
