    Description

    Members of the 1st Independent Polish Parachute Brigade (with the 1st British Airborne Division) loading into 114 Dakota aircraft on their way to what came to be called the Battle of Arnhem (“Operation Market-Garden”). Great Britain, 1944. Some 400 members of the Brigade died in this ill-conceived operation. The movie “A Bridge Too Far” is based on the Battle of Arnhem.
