Description
Frances Tyau was born July 19, 1919. She received her Ed.B. in Elementary Education from the University of Hawaii, her M.A. in Teachers Education from the Teachers College in Columbia, MA. Before coming to Buffalo, she was an elementary teacher in public schools in Hawaii, an intern teacher supervisor for the Hawaii Dept. of Education and the University of Hawaii, taught summer courses at the University of Hawaii, and was instructor at Western Illinois University. Ms. Tyau joined the faculty of the State University College at Buffalo in 1959 as a member of the the College Learning Laboratory, later known as the Campus School. Ms. Tyau retired June 8, 1985. At the time of her retirement she was associate professor of education. She passed away on July 11, 2012.
