From left, 1st Lieutenant Włodzimierz Drzewieniecki and 2nd Lieutenant Józef Maciąg put on their uniforms for the first time after their escape from Nazi-occupied Europe. Egypt-Palestine 1941. (Maciąg was killed during a British Army Special Forces operation in Yugoslavia in 1943.)
