    Lieutenant General Władysław Anders (Commander, Polish II Corps); Lieutenant General Harold Alexander (Commander-in-Chief, Middle East Command, British Army); and Lieutenant Colonel Henry Szymanski (U.S. Army, liaison officer attached to the Polish Forces in the Middle East and Italy). Monte Cassino, Italy, 1944. (Szymanski later took part in the investigation of the Katyń massacre during the Nuremburg trials).
