Both were instructors at the Officer Cadet School of the Polish Infantry Reserves (Szkoła Podchorążych Rezerwy Piechoty), Independent Carpathian Rifle Brigade (Samodzielniej Brygady Strzelców Karpackich [SBSK]). Signed in Polish: „For Dear Włodek as a demonstration of a sincere friendship as a remembrance of moments spent together in Egypt.” Egypt, March 7, 1942.
