Kromkaj, 2nd Lieutenant Włodzimierz Drzewieniecki; standing in the second row toward right in a dark uniform, Hanka Stafińska, the fiancé of Józef Maciąg, who stands to her right. 1st Company, Officer Cadet School of the Polish Infantry Reserves (Szkoła Podchorążych Rezerwy Piechoty), Independent Carpathian Rifle Brigade (Samodzielniej Brygady Strzelców Karpackich [SBSK]). Palestine-Egypt, April 17-August 16, 1942. (Maciąg was killed during a British Army special forces’ operation to Yugoslavia in 1943.)
