Abstract
Many students lack math problem- solving skills which can impede their understanding and application of solving mathematical word problems in high school. The purpose of this study was to research the impact of video modeling on academic performance of translating and solving two step algebraic equations and word problems, as well as how much instructional time it takes to complete the initial video model. This study used an interactive learning platform called EdPuzzle to deliver the intervention. The participants included two tenth grade algebra students who were at risk for math failure. One student also had a diagnosis of ADHD. Researchers hypothesized that the video modeling would increase students' accuracy when solving math word problems. This presentation will discuss the results of a multiple baseline across participants study as well as limitations and recommendations for future research.
