Biography
Dr. William F. Wieczorek is the Director of the Center for Health and Social Research and the Institute for Community Health Promotion, as well as a Professor of Geography and Planning. Dr. Wieczorek is a native of Western New York who received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University at Buffalo. Prior to coming to Buffalo State in 1997, he was a senior research scientist at the Research Institute on Addictions. Dr. Wieczorek’s research interests include the epidemiology of substance abuse, prevention of drunk driving, evaluation of educational programs, community health needs assessments, advanced GIS applications, spatial models, and applied social/health research. His teaching interests include the epidemiology of alcohol use, applied geography, physical geography, and medical geography.
