Abstract
Detailed examination of the structure of American courts; the procedures and operating norms of judges, lawyers, and litigants; the impact of law on society, and alternative approaches to dispute resolution. Exploration of the nature and limits of law and legal reasoning; the selection of judges; the role of jurors; how federal courts set agendas, decide cases, and impact legal policy; and the role of interest groups and public opinion on judicial behavior.
