Diversity in American People and Food Culture

Abstract

The course examines the diversity in American people, their foods and food culture and how that integrates with the social and cultural diversity. The course briefly reviews the historic background of ethnic and cultural diversity in America, and discusses the multiculturalism and legal provisions developed as a response to discrimination and social injustice. The goal of the course is to help students live and work in a multicultural society as responsible citizens.
