Abstract
Introduction to physical anthropology and archeology. Physical anthropology: evolutionary theory and genetics, the human fossil record, and the study of non-human primates. Archeology scientifically reconstructs past cultures: the basics of archeological data and dating methods, the transformation from a hunting and gathering lifestyle to one based on food production and the consequences of this transformation that include, in some instances, the development of complex sociopolitical institutions and state societies.
