Focus on historical and current social welfare policies; theories of poverty causation; demographics of those impacted by poverty: race, age, gender, immigration status, socioeconomic status; prevention, intervention, and advocacy efforts to address poverty and promote economic justice. Requires participation in the Student Research and Creativity Conference.
