Abstract
The applied and historical study of all stages of literary publishing from the founding of Poetry: A Magazine of Verse in 1912 to present, including an understanding of both the function of the magazine as a literary force and the interaction of design and text. Practical application via lab hours devoted to editing, designing, and distributing Elm Leaves Journal, SUNY-Buffalo State’s literary magazine.
