Description
Mary Shea was born in Buffalo on November 24, 1900 to Michael and Josephine Carr Shea. Her father built Shea’s theater. Until she was twelve the family lived at 43 Vermont Street in Buffalo. She taught writing and history in New Jersey and married Emile Giffoniello in 1929. She returned back to Buffalo in the 1930’s and passed away on April 21, 1986. The SUNY Buffalo State Archives & Special Collections has a small collection donated by Mary concerning her father, Michael Shea.
