Storytelling in Science

Description

Effective communication is centered on the audience: It is audience friendly. This is particularly critical when it comes to communicating about science. One main challenge is to respect the intelligence of the audience without overestimating its knowledge on the topic or field. Respect is about how you say things (your tone) more than about what you say. In general, dare to say things the way they are. The intent when communicating about science is to make the audience understand. One of the most time-honored forms of communication is storytelling. The idea of storytelling in science is a perfectly reasonable way to approach to writing about and communicating of scientific observations. Research is not all about charts and figures. Well-expressed research can be composed to create a captivating story. The words are impactful because they make the research more comprehensive. A truly captivating research presentation has the potential to challenge the creativity and communicating ability of the researcher and maintain the interest of the audience. While it may at first seem like a daunting task, scientific storytelling can be very interesting, both for the researchers and the audience. So go ahead and captivate your audience with the by storytelling findings of your research!
