Abstract
The ultimate goal of this project will be to stabilize and treat this copy of the Riflessioni Geografiche2 so that it can be handled and made available as a book model within the department in order to demonstrate the potential for aqueous treatment of historic books. The research component for this project will focus on generating a washing and drying protocol for aqueous treatment of select pages. The present volume, a 17th century book printed in Italy on handmade paper and laced into a paper case, has been previously water damaged and there is tide line staining on a number of the outermost leaves.
